Beaches, Black Beans and Bossa?

While 80% of the population lives within 10km of its famed coastlines, small interior townships, originally colonized by the Portuguese, draw little attention by comparison.  Tiradentes, Ouro Preto and other former commercial centers are well known by locals, offering centuries of cobbled histories and craft some of the country’s finest wines, cheeses and meats.  Tannin-stained rivers finger verdant green tropical forests, dotted with pousadas and restaurants that shelter and satiate travelers with discerning palates.
