New Paint On Old Brownstone – Richmond, Virginia
by John Downey
Going through old shots again, given I haven’t had time for new photography (maybe it’s a good time to clean the camera sensor). Richmond has a new-old mix of renovation and innovation. Hang out and try out some of the unique neighborhoods (with a camera and an appetite). Though there’s no architecture or sense of place here, these two photographic images are simple landmarks, the one above is the side of a small cafe and the one below stretches along a two-story wall of Kuba Kuba, an amazing Cuban bodega near Richmond University. Enjoy a pulled pork and black beans breakfast here and you won’t be hungry for weeks. Cafe con leche. Listo.
