First Light On Three Brothers – Bale Mountains
by John Downey
This was made on a very cold morning in the Bale Mountains. I woke up way too early and realized the sun wouldn’t be up for another hour. However, I pre-positioned the stove and coffee maker the night prior, so all was gtg. What makes this shot unique is that sunrise lasted for about three minutes after what you see here. Then clouds swept in, canceling further illumination of the peaks. Three Brothers are those to the right. Tough concentrating on exposure and focus while coffee brewed intensely in the foreground house.
