Evolution of an Image – Keep Shooting Until Something Happens
by John Downey
I’ve mentioned this before in at least a couple of posts – you’ve got memory so use it. All of it. I began shooting this sequence (and there are at least ten more that didn’t make it here to keep you from boredom) not really knowing what this bather was going to do. He was looking away from camera at first and I expected him to put on his shoes and walk away.
However, at the last minute, he turned and looked at me for a few seconds before heading downhill.
Always keep your eye in the viewfinder and keep clicking until the scene disappears. Second guessing you have the shot you wanted will almost always end up in disappointment. Remember – the best sunset happens after you pack up and start heading back to the car.
