Painting in Central Park. NYC 2012.

by John Downey

These images were made two days before Sandy hit New York.  Autumn was not yet in full swing, yet with anticipated heavy rain and strong winds, this was about as much color as Central Park would get this year.  Throngs of tourists and locals flooded the park on bikes, carriages and running shoes, though you’d think by the top image that the park was practically deserted.
