White Mandarin (mutated).

by John Downey

Continuing tests of the Canon 70-200L, I found this small mutated Mandarin duck in low-light to challenge the lens’ image stabilization (IS).  Very impressive, as the lens was racked to 175mm, exposure 1/80@f6.3; -2/3 EV!  I’ve waited a long time for an IS lens – this one is tack sharp from the center to the four corners.  It is also heavy and best to use a monopod if out on an all-day shoot as I found out later in the day (ignore that comment in my previous post).
